A warm welcome to the Crathes Primary School website.
Have you considered the country school
alternative?
Crathes Primary School is a state funded school for 5-12 year
olds, administered by Aberdeenshire Education & Recreation,
and a member of the 'Small Schools Network' feeding Banchory
Academy.
The school offers a friendly, happy and caring environment
within which all pupils are stimulated and encouraged to reach
their full potential.
The focus is on maximising the opportunities for progress
across the complete spectrum of school activities.
In addition to participation in academic, sporting, arts and
music, and IT activities, pupils are encouraged to practice
responsible behaviour, and to build self-confidence while
having fun.
Results of the most recent Academic assessments showed the
performance of Crathes School is significantly above both
Aberdeenshire and National averages in the key subjects of
Reading and Mathematics and comparable for Writing.
As a small school, with a school-roll of approximately 40,
Crathes offers the option of:
* small class sizes (typically 18-20/class),
* an environment where every pupil is well-known by all staff,
* a highly-motivated and experienced teaching staff,
* a wide range of extra-curricular activities supported by
an extremely active Parent Teacher Association (PTA).
